Best Summer Ever!

Best. Summer. Ever.   Big statement, right?

I mean, my summer was pretty great and I’m sure yours was too, but what would BETTER look like?  What does BEST look like??  How do you define it? 

I’m guessing it’s not by how much money you made, or how much work you got done. It’s about the time you spent with your family. The commitment you kept to your fitness routine. The food you ate, the friends you laughed with, the places you went, and the things you did.

It’s about experiences.  It’s not about money…

But it takes money.  Or time.  (Or both!)

So how do we create more money and time to live our BEST life?  Work more hours? You might have more money but less time. Take the time you want, and usually you sacrifice some income.  Invest in yourself to go back to school, loading on debt so you have to work longer and harder at a job that pays more money… to pay back that debt.

Are we really ahead?  

Very few activities actually create time and money.  There’s got to be a better way, right?  There is.

In a Resolution Rut?

How many are on your list?

The last week of the year always seems to be a time for reflection and planning. What went right last year, what worked and what didn’t. Where can I be better… and HOW. I love this resolutions picture because all the notes seem to apply (other than ‘quit smoking’ — knocked that one out a few years ago, yeah!. Oh, and I’m not sold on “quit drinking” either, but surely an alcoholiday is in order.)

The other 8? They seem to be goals & resolutions EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Why is that?

I’ll admit, for years (okay, a decade), I was stuck in a rut. A pretty common rut, I imagine… one where “get out of debt” means work more, which gets in the way of “family time” and “enjoy life more”.

To earn more, I’d have to “learn something new” which sucked more time from exercise, enjoying life and family. “Help others” takes time or money, and who has time to “get organized”??

The constant stress didn’t do any favors toward “lose weight” either. I made great money but my kids and spouse didn’t know me. My weight went up, my health spiraled down, and I was desperately unhappy. But I didn’t know any other way.

Seriously, there’s GOT to be a better way. This ‘more’ loop is clearly not working.

Despite multiple jobs, nearly 76 million Americans are struggling financially and nearly half can’t cover an emergency $400 expense from savings. I get it – the Christmas check from my parents (grateful!) went straight to my dentist.

News reports tell of the disappearing middle class, battered on both sides with fewer well-paying jobs, yet facing skyrocketing expenses, particularly education and healthcare (dentist!). Forget enjoying our golden years… many people don’t ever expect to retire.

What if the key is not more, but DIFFERENT? Like, totally different.

Where helping others and personal growth is the key to busting open the money-time paradigm in a way that’s fun, not work. This idea was so far afield from my traditional, Ivy-league education and corporate work. I simply didn’t believe it was possible.

But deep down I hoped it was.

And so I dipped my toe in the water.

Slowly… carefully. I didn’t want to get burned.

I’m happy to report the water’s fine! Really. Jump in and join us!

My future looks SO much different than it did several years ago. I have so much more hope, so much more possibility. I LOVE what I do, and I only get ahead by helping others. I have time and money to really get to work on my bucket list! I dream way bigger and set fun plans in action to make them come true.

Why? Because I already see results after just a short time.

I have time with my family, and actually enjoy it without the nagging stress that I really should be at the office.

If I want to take a month off to travel (my favorite!) or need time because life happens, I can do that without impacting my income. My income is truly residual. And I am in charge of my own raise.

Getting out of debt – like true financial freedom – is an attainable goal. The reduced stress alone helps me eat better, enjoy exercise and voila!… Lose weight.

BAM. Hitting all those resolutions. Check, check, check.

I’d say it all comes down to ONE thing at the start. LEARN SOMETHING NEW.

Be open. Ask questions. Meet others on our team. Do your own diligence. And THEN decide.

Only YOU can make the decision to change your life, but you CAN do it… and tackle these New Year’s resolutions once and for all.

The Power of Positive Thinking

Recently a member of one of my networking groups asked the question, “Do you want to feel amazing every morning?”

Wow, what an offer.  I immediately said, ” Yes, who wouldn’t?”  Now I get postive accolades automatically sent to me every morning.  I am amazed at how nice it felt this morning, and I much I wanted to pay it forward to my partners, friends and family.

Take a moment and think about someone you want to feel great and invest the minute to call and make their day!

Why women and children are more susceptible to hormone disrupting toxins pervasive in household products and how to avoid them!

I’ll tell you I’ve learned so much recently about why women and girls are more likely to expose themeselves to harmful ingredients.  We have 30+ exposures a day that we can avoid just by selecting better safer products.  Females naturally have a higher body fat to muscle ratio (not fun to think about of course), but this leaves us more open to chemicals asorbing into our fat cells and taking up residence so to speak.  Not fun!
We also use more personal care products and some we don’t even blink at the thought of using them because we know there’s “pain” involved for the sake of beauty.  Simply switching to safe cosmetics is easy and affordable, but most don’t give that a second thought.
We’re the ones cleaning (unless you’re blessed with my husband who was well trained by his mom), so our exposure to glass cleaner, counter cleaners and bathroom cleaners is higher.
We all have to worry about exposure to harmful chemicals in those dryer sheets, laundry and softening agents… and don’t get me started on Cascade and other dishwasher detergents that bake harmful chemicals into glassware.
I’m happy to say it is my mission to share a brand that is better, safer and so much more effective than any traditional brands available in retail store.

Benefits of Omega 3s

I’ve spend a good deal of time listening to experts and reading about Omega 3s. So much so, that I feel compelled to share it once again with all of you.  Here’s what I’ve learned:

Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids: They are necessary for our bodies, however the human body cannot produce them.  The only way to get them is through your what you eat or supplements.

1. Omega 3s have been scientifically proven to to make a difference in the following: (according to The Mayo Clinic)

Coronary heart disease – Evidence suggests that people who have low levels of EPA and DHA may have a higher risk of coronary heart disease and heart failure.

High blood pressure – Many studies report that omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce blood pressure.

Hyperlipidemia (triglyceride lowering) – There is strong scientific evidence that omega-3 fatty acids from fish or fish oil supplements can significantly reduce triglyceride levels.

Rheumatoid arthritis – Many studies report improvements in morning stiffness and joint tenderness with regular intake of fish oil supplements for up to three months.

Secondary cardiovascular disease prevention (fish oil / EPA plus DHA) – Fish oil has been studied for use in protecting people who have had past heart problems from new ones, such as heart attack or sudden death.

2. Not all sources of Omega 3s are the same

Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other seafood including algae and krill, some plants, and nut oils. However, ALA found in nuts and plants, are not as efficiently processed by our bodies or have the same health benefits of DHA and EPA found in fish, marine sources and dairy and eggs.  According to the DHA-EPA Omega Institute “DIETARY SOURCES OF OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS” table. 

3. Even if you eat fish weekly, you are not likely to be getting the proper dose of Omega 3 in your diet

To get 660mg of DHA & 270 mg of EPA (the recommended balance of 2:1 between the two types and the recommended dosage according our manufacturer – The FDA recommends not to exceed 2000mg a day.) you would need to consume the following:

84 oz Tilapia     18 oz Cod     12 oz Catfish     10 Sardines     10 oz Tuna     6 oz Trout     18 oz Haddock

3 oz Salmon     21 oz of Lobster     31 oz Clams     21 oz Scallops

4. My friends kids will take Omega 3 if they taste great!

As a mom of a bright and active girl, I look for the best options for learning AND fun during the summer. These do not come without a steep price for registration. I register early to leverage the early registration and multi week discounts. Still, extra income comes in handy to cover the costs! (even for working moms:)

My friends and I have helped many moms do just that. The extra income we’ve helped create is fantastic! We work together, share the company we work with and show moms how to benefit.
